Currently existing Living Museum Settlements such as Jamestown (Virginia), Lejre Center (Denmark), Ijsselmeer (Netherlands), West Stow (Suffolk, England), Pamunkey (Virginia), et. al., are extremely beneficial in that they provide an experiential view of historically accurate primitive technologies & cultural systems of survival. This is of the utmost importance, for in the process of the development of these enactments, & the flourishing of affiliated practitioners of these lost arts, crucial technologies are preserved & actually reinvented which would otherwise pass into oblivion. Encompassing both experimental archaeology & historical reenactments, the development of these living museums holds a preeminent position on the cutting edge of anthropology today.
